"RAVE" GOODBYE Cornwall Baxter reports on youth culture and why it must be stopped "Rave on! It's a crazy feeling! Rave on! You've got me reeling!" So sang the king of fifties jazz, Cliff Richard. But surely not even he could have forseen the tragic plight of today's inner city youngsters. Raised on a diet of televisions and computers, sneeringly dismissive of the golden oldies of yesteryear, teenagers in the nineties are increasingly falling victim to a dangerous new phenomenon which is sweeping across England and Wales. "Acid house", "Rap", "Heavy Metal" - Call it what you will, Today's youth on the streets know it by only one name... "RAVE!" (or techno) The mail can now exclusively reveal the TRUTH about these so-called "events":- (1) Many "ravers" are actually committed "hedonists" - Anarchists who shamelessly and habitually enjoy themselves without permission from the police. (2) Incredibly, dangerous new technology, such as Internets, world webs and electric mail now allows music to be stolen electronically, from the other side of the world, in 0.025 of a second - less time than it takes to yawn. Living in inner city squalor, singing and dancing in the street and idolising gangsters used to be the preserve of the good old fashioned cheeky chirpy cockney chappie of London's fetid "east end", but this innocent lifestyle has been twisted into something much more sinister by the evil purveyors of the "rave" trade. Enter a shady world of drugs and deception, where sinister "DJ"s use stolen computer equipment to amplify "repressive beats" to over 100 rpm in some cases - enough to permanently deafen a young teenager's ears, or turn a normally obedient toddler into twitching epileptic wreckage. Possibly the most tragic aspect of the whole "rave" culture is that many of the youngsters who become its unwitting victims are not yobs from the inner cities, but are in fact good Christian children from middle class backgrounds. Take, for instance, the tragic tale of "Robert" (Not his real name) of 33 Burton Crescent, Miltondale, Derbyshire, DE14 3KY, who, whilst visiting a so called "rave" event, became involved in an argument with a group of so-called "new age" so-called "travellers". The argument escalated, ending only when "Robert" was brutally killed in the face with guns. In its tripped-up state, however, Robert's drug-addled brain didn't actually realise that the fatal wounding had occured until the drugs wore off, several hours later. Surely no parent can forget the shocking pictures of Robert's blissfully ignorant corpse, dancing the night away like some hedonistic zombie. Indeed, it is even said that police phorensic scientists took almost half an hour to persuade the drug-fucked cadaver to lie down for the post-mortem.
